customer testimonial

"Great company for small biz owners. It's like having an IT guy on staff, without the expense of a full time employee. Ntegra bid to put in a server and 4 desktops, transferring data from old computers, designing and managing on site and remote back ups, setting up fax to email, taking over email and web hosting. Everything was installed on time and as promised. After three months, everything is working as promised, follow up is great, and I am light years ahead of where I used to be."

What is HaaS/SaaS?

Hardware or software as a service is a broad term used to describe a new trend in the computer industry.  The essential idea behind HaaS/SaaS is to provide clients hardware and software that they really need, when they need it and at a fixed cost to the business.   The advantage for employees is that they are assured of receiving up to date equipment and software on a regular basis and the advantage for the business is that the business can now budget all its technology expenses.

To furnish an example of how HaaS and SaaS work for your business:

Imagine a small business that has ten computers and one server.  The computer systems that the company has are getting old and productivity is being severely impacted by nearly daily computer outages.  So the company teeters along paying for technicians to come in regularly and repair equipment and every so often when a computer is really in the dumps they buy a new one.  Before long they are finding it harder to work as a team because some computers are running different versions of Windows, others are running different versions of Microsoft Office and the employees are often having problems working with the server.  Not to mention the three or four extended coffee breaks the employees are taking while computers are either rebooting or booting up.  Business starts to get a little tight and one day, out of the blue, the server crashes.  The business owner did not allot for this expense and is now wondering how they are going to pay for a server as well as the time required by a technician to get it online.  Unfortunately he doesn’t have time to debate as every minute down is stealing away profitability from the business.

Now imagine the same business with ten computers and one server.  The computer systems that the company has are getting old and productivity is being severely impacted by nearly daily computer outages.  So the company decides to invest in a HaaS/SaaS solution.  All the computers, server and software are replaced with brand new products.  They pay a fixed monthly fee for all their equipment and software.  At first the expense to the business causes some heartache.  The owner and bookkeeper are not used to managing the extra expense per month.  But as time goes by the advantages start becoming blaringly obvious.  The owner realizes they haven’t spent one additional dime on computer hardware.  In fact, the one time a computer did have a power supply issue the part was replaced for free.  Equally, he hasn’t heard a peep from his employees complaining that the computers are running slow or that they are having problems accessing or updating documents.  The computer guys the owner normally calls on haven’t had to show up for months.  Time goes by, and the owner and bookkeeper impressed by how much the business has saved in “on call” services and technology purchases decide to start planning business investments for the following year.  The owner starts considering how bad things had gotten with the business’s old computers and begins making an allowance for new purchases for the future.  But then he remembers that through his HaaS/SaaS agreement his business’s equipment and software will be regularly refreshed with brand new products.  The owner lets out a sigh of relief and both the owner and bookkeeper begin making investment plans to build a better business.

Obviously, the scenarios above are fictional, but in a real sense, accurately reflect the kind of improvement a business will experience when technology budgeting is fixed, employees can work effectively and surprise expenses are eliminated.
